Hyper Plan v2.10.6 For Windows and Mac

This release adds improvements and bug fixes to v2.10.3 (Windows) and v2.10.5 (Mac). The download links are at the bottom of the page.

We recommend that you back-up important plan files before installing any new release. Please let us know of any problems or issues you encounter with the release.

Home and Professional Editions

Windows and Mac

1. The underlying Qt libraries have been updated for better compatibility with the latest Windows and Mac operating systems.

2. When the Left pane is closed in the Cards, Charts or Table tab the keyboard focus is now set to the Right pane. Thanks to Vincent N. for reporting this.

3. Previously new plans created from a .csv file could not be sorted in the Table tab until they had been saved and reloaded as a .hp file. This has now been fixed.

4. Previously advanced filtering would not:

• Match an empty date value when Is = empty.
• Match an empty date value when Is not = empty.

This is now fixed. Thanks to Carl H. for reporting this.

5. The title in the Cards tab is now moved down if Appearance>Headers>Header name is set to Hide. This makes better use of the space available. Thanks to Pieter C. for suggesting this.

Windows only

6. Previously Hyper Plan was a 32 bit application on Windows. Hyper Plan is now a 64 bit application on Windows. This should:

• Improve responsiveness on 64 bit operating systems.
• Ensure that Hyper Plan will still be useable if 32 bit support is removed.

Note that you will not be able to run this release on an old 32 bit version of Windows. If you have a 32 bit version of Windows, you can continue to use Hyper Plan v2.10.3.

7. The Microsoft C++ libraries have been updated.

8. The Inno Setup installer has been updated.

9. If you set Preferences>User interface style to Windows the styling fits better with the Windows 11 user interface.

Mac only

10. Previously Hyper Plan was an Intel binary and worked on ARM (M series) Macs using Rosetta 2 emulation. Hyper Plan is now a ‘universal’ (fat) binary on Mac, containing both Intel and ARM binaries. This should:

• Improve responsiveness on Macs with ARM chips.
• Ensure that Hyper Plan continues to work on ARM Macs, even when Rosetta 2 support is withdrawn (currently planned for 2027).
• Ensure that Hyper Plan continues to run on Macs with Intel chips.

11. Previously pop-up menus were sometimes inaccessible. For example, when selecting File>New Window then open a recent plan. This is now fixed. Thanks to Andrew K. for reporting this.

12. Previously there was a text rendering issue on macOS 11 where it sometimes looked as if a space had not been typed. This is now fixed. Thanks to David L. and Kay K. for reporting this.

13. Keyboard shortcuts now work in fullscreen mode, where the toolbar and menubar are hidden. Thanks to Aaron K. and John R. for reporting this.

14. Message box icons were sometimes missing on macOS 11. This is now fixed.

15. The Dock icon has been reduced slightly in size to fit better with other Mac icons. Thank you to Andrew C. for reporting this.

16. Various minor bug fixes and cosmetic improvements.

Professional Edition only

Windows and Mac

17. Previously, clicking the ‘+’ button in the Connections tab of the Edit Card window could cause a crash when no connection types had been defined. This is now fixed and an error message is shown instead.

18. Very long property values are now properly handled in the Add Connection window.
